What is the challenge?
A 531 mile tour of Wales virtually visiting each of the 18 dialysis units across the country.
We know 531 miles is a challenge, but how you complete the challenge is up to you! You can walk, jog or cycle the distance and you have 365 days to complete the challenge. That is 1.5 miles a day, 5,000 steps each day across the year and you will have succeeded and completed the challenge.
Can the distance be completed collectively by a team?
If you would prefer, you can team up with family members, friends or colleagues to achieve the distance as a group. All members of the team will need to register individually.
When will the challenge start?
The challenge will begin on the first of January 2023, perfect for those looking to set a new years resolution, and will end 31st December 2023.
How will the distance be recorded?
You can record your distance throughout the year using the ‘distance record form’ which will be emailed to you, alternatively apps such as strava will record this for you. Once you have completed all 531 miles you are asked to notify us via email with a screenshot, you will then receive your medal within 15 working days in the post.
What is the cost to take part?
The cost to enter is £20 per person, your entry fee will include an electronic fundraising pack, the full support of the Kidney Wales team in taking on your virtual challenge as well as a bespoke Taith dros Gymru medal to celebrate your incredible achievements upon completion of the challenge.
Is there a minimum sponsorship target?
There is no minimum sponsorship requirement for the event, however this certainly an almighty challenge. Therefore, if you feel you are able to gain support from friends and family as you take on the challenge please consider collecting donations on behalf of Kidney Wales throughout your virtual journey.

Alltwen, Ysbyty Gwynedd, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Mold, Wrexham Maelor, Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells, Merthyr Tydfil, Pontypool, Newport, Cardiff North (Pentwyn), University Hospital of Wales Cardiff, Cardiff South, Llantrisant, Morriston, Glangwili, Haverfordwest, Aberystwyth.
