The Walk for Life season is upon us, however due to the unprecedented circumstances we are currently faced with many of our scheduled walks due to take place over the coming months has been cancelled. As a small independent charity we depend on these types of fundraising events to enable us to continue the services we provide to patients and their families across Wales. With the outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19) it is more important than ever that we are able to support our Kidney Community here in Wales.

This is why it is crucial for us to continue our planned fundraising activities as best as we can enabling us to continue providing guidance and support during these anxious times.

For this reason, we are calling on you to join our Virtual Walk for Life event.
The beauty of a virtual event is that it can take place anywhere at any time.

If you are currently shielding due to Government advice, this virtual walk can be undertaken at home / around your garden counting the number of steps. If you are not shielding the walk can be undertaken as part of your daily exercise. However do remember you are only able to leave the house once a day for exercise, and it must be with members of your household only.

The virtual Walk challenge can be undertaken throughout April, May or June. You can select a distance which is a challenge for you personally. Our suggestions would be 2K = 2624 steps , 5K = 6561 steps, 10K = 13123 steps

All walkers will receive a fundraising pack, Walk for Life tshirt and a finishers medal to celebrate your fantastic achievement.

To take part all you need to do is
1) Email us at team@kidneywales.cymru to request your fundraising pack. We will need the following details Full Name, Address, Contact Number, Preferred Tshirt Size. Or call us on 02920 343940.

2) Set your date & time

3) Set up your online giving page – This can be done via Just Giving or your Facebook profile

4) Share with Friends & Family – if you can don’t forget you can broadcast your challenge live via facebook or youtube to raise extra awareness

If you are able, it would be great to have you join us as part of this initiative, not only are you helping to raise money for a fantastic cause, you will be improving your health and wellbeing during these extremely difficult times.
If you have any questions at all about how the virtual walks will work, don’t hesitate to contact us on team@kidneywales.cymru or call 02920 343940.

We look forward to virtually walking with you over the coming months!
