The Cardiff 10K & 2K Fun Run, powered by leading Welsh charity Kidney Wales, today announced a new chapter for its iconic event with Cardiff Metropolitan University named as the new title sponsor for both the 10K and 2K races.

Cardiff Metropolitan University will sponsor the event, now officially titled The Cardiff Metropolitan University Cardiff 10K & 2K Fun Run. Having been involved with the event as an event associate in 2018, this partnership will help further develop and promote health and wellbeing across Wales and the UK.

The date for 2019 has been set, taking place on Sunday 1 of September with over 9,000 runners expected to run through the heart of the City Centre for Wales’s largest 10K road race. The race is open to runners of all standards, and due to the appealing flat feature of the route, the course is now more accessible than ever, offering a great opportunity for novice and experienced runners alike to take part in a run that is far more likely to be enjoyable than gruelling. The route is certainly a favourite amongst runners passing some of Cardiff’s landmarks including The Cardiff Castle and The Principality Stadium.

Speaking of this newly announced partnership Nic Clarke, Director of Operations at Kidney Wales said
“We are thrilled to announce Cardiff Metropolitan University as the title sponsor of our flagship event, Cardiff 10K and 2K fun run. For us it’s another exciting milestone in the growth of our event, and we are looking forward to working with the team at Cardiff Metropolitan University to further develop and grow this iconic event.”

Entries are now open for the 2019 race, with prices starting from just £24.50 for an individual in the 10K, and £6 for the 2K Fun Run (a small transaction fee will be charged in addition at the checkout).
