Casino Royal Fundraising Dinner raises over £15,000

Who would have thought that changing our event date from March to September would be such a brilliant decision? September was a great month for Kidney Wales and our Casino Royal Fundraising Dinner was the perfect conclusion to a fantastic month.

It was a pleasure to have Nation Radio’s Angela Jay  hosting the evening, bringing her humour and sincerity in equal measure whilst being completely captivating throughout. Her look, inspired suitably by the James bond theme was sharp and eye-catching and matched her persona, keeping our guests engaged and excited throughout the evening. We cannot thank her enough for her support, she clearly enthused our guests and helped us make this our most successful fundraising dinner yet.

It cannot be easy to follow such a presence but when Trustee Mike Stephen began to tell our guests about his journey with Kidney Wales the room fell silent, listening intently to Mikes story. Mike spoke about his job as a Transplant Surgeon, with passion and enthusiasm; he has a true connection to the charity, our aims and goals and loves seeing Kidney Wales go from strength to strength. It was the perfect opportunity for our supporters to hear first-hand what their presence that evening was doing to help Kidney Wales.

We cannot thank Spiros catering and the entire team at the Cornerstone enough for all their hard work, the welcoming atmosphere and the incredible food. The cornerstone is a beautiful venue, it is grand and beautiful whilst also being unique to the centre of Cardiff, all the ingredients required for an amazing experience hosting our dinner there. The room worked perfectly for our theme, completed with some sparkling finishing touches courtesy of WOW Events Hire that helped us tie everything together. It’s been great to see photos from the evening popping up on social media, it looks like all attendees thoroughly enjoyed the James Bond theme, there wasn’t a moment where people weren’t enjoying Big Mac Wholly Soul Band, or the Deal A Party’s casino tables.

We could happily continue about how beautiful the venue was, how delicious the food was and how fantastic our speakers were. However, this event was about so much more than that. We were overwhelmed by the response. We were so lucky to have been given such excellent raffle and auction prizes and to have the support of Bid Aid . The donated prizes, which included a Central Pharmacy Clarins beauty hamper, a Cardiff Devils Experience and a signed Arsenal football, went down incredibly well, exceeding expectations and raising a fantastic amount of the final total. Our guests, including X-factor Semi-finalist and Kidney Wales patron, Lloyd Macey, enjoyed a magical evening, and a special performance by Lloyd himself. Everyone in attendance made the evening the massive success that it was, we are so grateful to everyone who came along to support our ambitious charity.

Kidney Wales’ Casino Royal Fundraising Dinner raised an outstanding £15,000! Thank you to everyone who came to support us, to HSBC for match funding and volunteering, to all the kind organisations who donated prizes. Thank you all so much. This was by far our most successful fundraising dinner in recent years. We hope you will join us for our next one.
